Central National-Gottesman To Acquire Bradner Central’s U.S. Distribution Business

PURCHASE, New York, November 4, 2013—Central National-Gottesman Inc (CNG) today announced that it has signed a definitive Purchase Agreement for its Lindenmeyr Munroe division to acquire the assets and business of Bradner Central Company, one of the oldest and most highly regarded family-owned paper merchants in the United States. Bradner is headquartered in Elk Grove Village, IL (Bradner Smith; Rotary Paper Manifold) with operations in Butler and Appleton, WI (Bradner Smith); Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, MI (Quimby Walstrom); Dallas, TX (Alto Papers) and Atlanta, GA (Bradner National). The closing is expected to take place on November 15, 2013.

Central National-Gottesman To Acquire Domtar’s Ariva Operations In The United States

PURCHASE, N.Y., July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Central National-Gottesman Inc. (CNG) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Domtar Corporation pursuant to which Lindenmeyr Munroe, a division of CNG, will acquire the United States operations of Domtar’s Ariva paper distribution business.

Ariva, headquartered in Covington, Kentucky, is a major U.S. paper distributor, with 15 locations in the East and Midwest. The closing is expected to take place by the end of July 2013. Immediately after the closing, CNG has agreed to sell the Midwest locations of Ariva, located in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, to The Millcraft Paper Company, a long-established and highly regarded paper merchant headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Study: Clear environmental claims critical to consumer acceptance

In the most recent research conducted by Perception Research Services, shoppers demonstrated that they are interested in choosing environmentally friendly packaging. Significantly more shoppers stated they would like to choose environmentally friendly packaging compared to 2010 (36% vs. 28%), with fully half still willing to pay more (despite the economy). This is especially true of younger (under 40) shoppers. Over half (59%) of the sample stated that seeing environmental claims on packaging positively impacts their behavior to either buy more of the brands they usually do, or switch to others.
